Our History

Gainesville Machine opened its doors in 1946, bringing to the poultry industry a full line of poultry processing equipment. The company’s commitment is to produce the finest machinery at the lowest cost using the best raw materials. 

To meet these goals the New Gainesville Machine has put together the finest management group in the industry.

- Our Team -

President: Grover (Butch) Harben- Mr. Harben’s family has been building poultry machinery since 1946. His father Grover Harben Jr. started Gainesville Machine Co. (later Stork-Gamco) just after World War II. Butch became involved during the 1960’s and has been involved in the industry since that time bringing plant automation to where it is today. His strengths are in design and product development.

General Manager: Gearld Kiser-Mr. Kiser began his career in the early 1960’s as a management trainee with Georgia Broilers (Later Pillsbury. Later J-M Poultry, Later Con-Agra of Gainesville Ga) Now Pilgrim’s Pride. After becoming a Pillsbury Plant Manager. Gerald moved to Camilla GA to Manage a Plant for Cagle’s Inc. In the early 1970’s Gerald moved back to Gainesville to supervise the rebuilding of the Jessie Jewell Plant for Cagle’s. This plant produced over 16000 Birds Per Hour in the early 1970’s! Involved in the equipment business since 1984 Gearld’s strengths are in Plant Management, Production Layout, Staffing, Poultry Marketing, and Utilization of Automation in all Phases of Poultry Processing.

Sales and Service Manager: Gene Petty began his career in the early 1970’s designing, building and installing all types of processing machinery. Gene came into sales in 1992 and became the sales manager in 2008. His mission is to build long-lasting relationships with hundreds of clients and provide them with customized solutions for their processing equipment needs. Gene is undoubtedly one of the most knowledgeable plant-wise people in the world! 

Service: Doug Kidd began in our industry about 30 years ago. He has been involved in the development of almost any type processing machine. Doug can use this experience to help you with almost any problem.

Service: Bradley Turpin began in our industry about 35 years ago. He has been involved in service and research and development.

Service: JR Turpin began in our industry about 30 years. He has been involved in manufacturing and service.

Service: Jimmy Smith began with our company 12 years ago. Jimmy has been in the poultry businesses for over 30 years.
